St Luke’s Mission of Mercy is an independent Mission with a Roman Catholic tradition in the inner city of Buffalo, New York. St. Luke’s is run completely by volunteers, and does not receive money from the government or the diocese. Trusting in God's Divine Providence, the Mission depends solely on donations. God, in His goodness, continues to bless the work of the Mission by inspiring those who have to share with those who do not.
In an effort to improve the lives of at-risk single mothers and children, St. Luke's Mission of Mercy has created the Gospa Village Project. The mission of this project is to provide a stable, supervised living environment for this underserved and at risk population. Within this environment, mothers are enabled to continue their education and receive assistance from missionaries for child care and parental bonding advice. Gospa Village helps to protect and empower these families while they learn, love, and acquire the assistance and skills they need to become independent and grow into healthy, functioning family units.
The Gospa Village Project will be located west of St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy on currently vacant land. This land will be used to create a community of single family homes, as well as a shared educational and gathering space for residents of Gospa Village.
